A primary goal of the MUMC CDC snack and nutrition program is to introduce the children to a variety of new foods, in accordance with the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) as required by Minimum Standards. With this in mind, the CDC strives to serve fruits and vegetables on most days. Pumpkin butter is a delicious fall treat!  Once a pumpkin has been baked, the meat is then pureed with apple juice and spices.  It can be spread on toast, enjoyed warm over ice cream, or mixed into coffee! We will have pumpkin butter as part of our snack on October 8th and 9th.
